Grades?

By: Jerry Zhang

I got a bad grade on French,
But who the hell care,
Cause I got a good grade elsewhere.
I hate how my grades are unbalanced,
Like a car with a tire flattened.
My grades harasses me day and night,
That I don't even know what is wrong or right.

Now my other grades are A-ok,
But they aren't the best in my opinion,
I think I'll just enjoy life for a year,
And take on the pressure next year.
Next year, Imma go all in,
So that my grades can surely win!
So screw my crap grades for now,
Cause I hate to debate for my grades!

Like a baby bird trying to fly,
I'm trying to raise my marks up high.
When I try hard I feel like a retard,
Cause I can't seem to get to the top.
But sometimes I'm so lazy,
That I think I even forgot my A-Z.
I don't know if I'm trying enough,
But it seems getting good grades are really tough.
What can I do now?
Guess I'll just have to try harder.

Report card day is like a dream,
Both exciting and dreadful.
My heart starts to pumpin,
And my mind goes blank.
I hear the crunch of the envelopes,
The paper fills me with hopes.
I become a little kid waiting for candy,
I guess I still care about my grades.

If I really want my grades to change,
Guess I'll have to start arrange.
Cause my work habits and life,
Just don't seem that right.
I gotta start the change with myself,
So I don't have to blame anyone else.
